Role Overview
A senior individual contributor role focused on leading the evolution of a large-scale cloud platform and infrastructure ecosystem. The position combines architectural leadership with hands-on technical execution, driving infrastructure strategy, platform architecture, automation, and cloud adoption while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, security, and product teams.

Core Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term platform engineering and cloud infrastructure strategy.
- Design highly available, scalable, and resilient AWS cloud environments.
- Establish architectural standards, operational models, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend platform improvements.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Lead decisions around cluster architecture, scalability, networking, resilience, and governance.
- Improve platform reliability through automation and observability.
- Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
- Design and improve Infrastructure as Code frameworks and automation practices.
- Establish GitOps deployment approaches and CI/CD architecture standards.
- Drive adoption of self-service developer platform capabilities.
- Architect monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions.
- Improve platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in production incident investigations and remediation efforts.
- Design secure network topologies across cloud, hybrid, and multi-region environments.
- Establish infrastructure security standards and collaborate on compliance and governance.
- Partner with engineering, DevOps, SRE, security, and leadership teams.
- Produce architecture documentation, technical evaluations, and implementation guidelines.
- Provide technical mentorship and architectural guidance.

Requirements
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale cloud-native platforms.
- Deep expertise with AWS architecture, services, and operational best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production.
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
- Extensive experience implementing GitOps workflows and deployment automation.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, reliability engineering, and platform scalability.
- Solid networking knowledge including DNS, load balancing, secure connectivity, routing, and multi-region architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing observability solutions.
- Strong automation and scripting skills with Python, Go, Bash, JavaScript, or similar.
- Practical understanding of security architecture, infrastructure hardening, and secure system design.
- Experience driving operational improvements through automation.
- Ability to create architectural designs and guide implementation.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Bonus / Nice to Have
- Experience with OpenTelemetry-based telemetry collection and observability architectures.
- Exposure to real-time communication platforms and streaming technologies.
- Experience designing globally distributed data platforms and cross-region resilience strategies.
- Familiarity with modern API gateway solutions and service connectivity patterns.
- Understanding of software architecture principles, domain-driven design, and microservices patterns.
- Experience implementing enterprise secrets management solutions.
- Knowledge of platform engineering frameworks and Internal Developer Platform (IDP) concepts.
