Our client is looking for a Frontend Game Developer to join a product engineering team focused on building interactive online gaming experiences. The role involves developing browser-based games, reusable platform components, and internal development tools while collaborating closely with designers, artists, and backend engineers. Core Responsibilities
- Develop new browser-based games, gameplay features, and internal development tools using modern frontend technologies.
- Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable application components with a strong focus on performance and code quality.
- Implement interactive game mechanics and user interfaces in collaboration with designers and artists.
- Participate in the design and evolution of the internal game development framework and shared libraries.
- Develop prototypes to validate new gameplay concepts and technical solutions.
- Review code, contribute to technical discussions, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
- Write automated unit tests and help improve overall application reliability and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot application issues, optimize rendering performance, and resolve production defects.
- Build automation tools that improve development workflows and accelerate feature delivery.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve development processes, tooling, and technical standards.

Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience developing web applications or browser-based games.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience building user interfaces with React.
- Practical experience with PixiJS, Phaser, or another 2D rendering/game engine.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and common design patterns.
- Experience using Git and collaborative software development workflows.
- Familiarity with RxJS or similar reactive programming libraries.
- Understanding of state management concepts, including state machine libraries such as XState or similar.
- Experience implementing responsive web applications across different devices and screen sizes.
- Knowledge of dependency injection concepts and related libraries.
- Experience writing unit tests using frameworks such as Jest or similar.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus / Nice to Have
- Previous experience in game development or interactive web applications.
- Knowledge of WebGL, Canvas rendering, or graphics optimization techniques.
- Experience with animation technologies such as GSAP, Spine, or similar.
- Familiarity with Howler.js, Tone.js, or other web audio libraries.
- Experience using Sentry or similar monitoring and error-tracking platforms.
- Exposure to monorepo architectures and tools such as Nx, Lerna, or Yarn Workspaces.
