Role Overview

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving a scalable, secure, and well-governed Databricks data platform supporting analytics and AI use cases. The role combines data engineering, platform governance, and AI enablement, with a focus on building trusted data products for areas such as sales forecasting, pipeline visibility, and customer insights. The position involves close collaboration with data engineers, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders across international teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve Databricks governance, including Unity Catalog, data access, security, and data quality.
  • Design and maintain scalable data architectures, models, tables, and data pipelines.
  • Build and optimize data products supporting analytics and AI use cases.
  • Improve AI-powered knowledge tools by enhancing content, entity matching, and answer quality.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enable the adoption of data and AI solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement new Databricks and AI capabilities to improve platform performance and business value.
  • Establish and promote best practices for data engineering, governance, and AI-ready data platforms.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with Databricks or a similar cloud data platform such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance and access management; experience with Unity Catalog is a strong advantage.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience building scalable data models and modern ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience designing and maintaining data platforms supporting analytics or AI use cases.
  • Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders and translate business needs into practical data solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills.
  • Interest in emerging AI technologies and their practical application in business environments.

  • Experience with Generative AI and AI-powered data tools.
  • Experience with Databricks Genie or similar AI-powered analytics solutions.
  • Experience with data security and governance in large-scale environments.
